FORCED LANDING NEAR SMYRNA. (Per Press Assn. Extraordinary). (Received this day at 9.25 a.m) ATHENS, October 1. It is reported that Kingsford Smith made a forced landing at Milas, near Smyrna. He is expected at Athens to-day.

NEWS CONFIRMED. ATHENS, October 1. The Vacuum Oil Company confirms this report. [Milas, or Melassa is inland from the Gulf of Mendelig and about 100 miles due south of Smyrna, in Asia Minor.]

PERMISSION TO LEAVE. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, October 1. Kingsford Smith cabled the Vacuum Oil Company from Milas at five o’clock to-night saying that he was awaiting permission to leave.
