A claim made by Matilda May Lawton, widow, "“against Holm Shipping Company for compensation for the death of her husband, Frank Lawton, first mate on the wrecked Progress, last May, was the subject of a reserved judgment at the Arbitration Court to-day. The Court held the case came within section two of the Workers' Compensation Act which excludes from the operation of the Act, any person employed otherwise than by way of manual labour. whose remuneration exceeds £4OO per annum. ' Judgment was accordingly given for the defendant Company.
