Mr Calvin Coolidge tex-President), has caused another political sensation with an article in the “Saturday Evening Post,” dispelling any rumours that he would permit himself “to hi drafted” for the presidency. Commenting on his, “I do not choose to run” statement of 1927, he writes: —“Why should it be supposed that what- I was then seeking to escape I am now seeking to acquire.” He continues: “It has long been the practice to give the President in office a second nomination. Any other course is open to grave objections.”

He continues with an exhortation to the United Republican Party, to support Mr Hoover.
