WOMAN’S BAG
DISAPPEARS FROM PHONE CABINET. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 29. ' | Left in a public telephone cabinet in Panama Street this afternoon, a lady’s handbag, containing £155, had vanished when the owner returned after an absence of only one minute. The loser was Mrs L. Andrew, of Rritomart Street, Berhampore. She stated the money had been drawn from the bank, and she had an appoin.iueat later in the day with a solicitor, who was to take it into his custody. Mrs Andrew said she placed the bag on top’ of the telephone, and she left without it. -She hurried back, but she found nothing. She considered it unlikely that anybody had time to use the phone before her return, and she saw nobody enter or leave the cabinet. Th p money was all in £5 notes.
