MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th. Signora Aida Bulmaa dramatic soprano, of Sydney, will appear at 2YA .this evening. She will sing two operatic numbers, also Geehl’s charming ballad, “For You Alone.” The popular tenor, Mr Denis Sheard, will sing the favourite “Your Tiny Hand is Frozen” (from “La Boheme”), “Questa e Quella” (from Rigoletto,”) and a new composition, “The Hawaiian Love Song.” Mr Ernest Glading, baritone, will be heard in the “Prologue” from “I Pagliacci,” “To-morrow,” and “The Strong (Box.” The “Musical Portrait”' series ■will be continued by Miss Gladys Watkins, pianiste, and Mrs Nancie Holloway (violiniste), who, in response to numerous requests, will give a further group of “Classical Dances.” 3YA will relay from Timaru a concert to be given by the Timaru Orchestral ■Society. Mr J. T. Paul, Editor of “The Otago Witness,” will be the lecturer on 4YA’s International Programme this evening. He will speak on “International Aspects of Modern Europe.” Silent day at IYA. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th. The speaker on the IYA International Programme this evening, will be Mrs M. B. Soljak, well known Auckland .< lecturer and social worker. “Women l|i-,‘ fiuence for ‘World Peace” will be hpr subject. Mr Walter Brough, popular Auckland baritone, now a resident of Wellington, will be heard from 2 5cA singing “A King’s Man,” “I Did Not Know,” “Harlequin,” and “That’s All.” Miss A ora Green (contralto) will sing “Flight of Ages,” “Calway by the Sea,” “ah Old Garden” and “Ma Curly-Headed Baby.” Also on the programme will be 1 .■ii- Biily 'tiart in popular songs at the piano. The incidental music will be j supplied by the Salon Orchestra. Bert-! hold and Bent, popular guitar duo, will 1 be heard in popular numbers. “A Night with the Scots” is 'the type of entertainment scheduled at 4YA this 1 evening. Such a programme is certain .0 meet with listeners’ approval. The Dunedin Highland Pipe Band, a very j tine combination, will play some of the ' traditional music of Scotland, including Highland dances. Supporting the Band will be Miss Eva Judd in violin items Ind the evtr-popular "Regal Four” who
present very acceptable numbers. The evening’s programme will include many '■< m lodies, very seldom heard, and during the evening, Mr W, B. McEwan, Dunedin’s Public Librarian, will give a fifteen minutes’ talk on “The jjove Songs of Burns.” Silent day at 3YA.
