THOUSANDS OF SWALLOWS,

VIENNA, September 27,
Having been overcome bv galea and torrential rains during their flight southward, 27,000 swallows were collected here in Vienna and in the surrounding villages by aeroplanes, and they \\vre carried on Saturday in boxes to Venice, where they were freed in sunshine.
Twenty-three thousand swallows ai\j being transported similarly to-dav.
