DRUIDS CONCERT

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The annual Druids concert and ball took place -iff-TCaili^T—'Public Hall on Wednesday evening last and was an outstanding success. There was a good attendance for the concert, while for the ball it was crowded. The concert programme was most enjoyable, every per. former being encored. The Gaiety Dance Band gave of their best, supplying bright music. The ladies’ committee provided an excellent supper. * The following was the programme:— Overture, “Cross Your Fingers”, Gaiety Dance Band; recitation, “Moth, er”, Miss Isabel Selby; violin solo, “Serenade”, Mr J. Sweeney; song, “Ye Banks and Braes/’’ Miss C. Wylie; character song, “Dutch Doll”, Miss Connie Staines; song, “We Better Bide, a Wee,” Mi ss It. Morgan ; Recitation, “The Man Who Sticks,” Master W. Howat; song, “My Dreams,” Mr A. Perry; ballet, by the Follies; overture, “Walking my Baby Back Home,” Gaiety Dance Band; song, “April is a Lady,” Miss 'McDonald (Greymouth); duet, “The Song of the Sword”, Messrs A. Perry and C. Wright; song, “Love’s a Merchant,” Miss , Ada Lynn; character sketch, “Contraband,” Muster J. Ryan ; violin solo Minuet in “G,” Mr D. Heinz; musical trio, Minstrel Medleys, Messrs Collett, Donovan and Auld; recitation, “Bridal Morn,” Miss Edna Howat; club swinging exhibition. The accompanists were Misses Giese' and Lynn.
