RAILWAY RETIREMENTS
OFFICIALLY REPORTED. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. It is officially stated by the Railway Department that the notice of retirement from the ltaihyay Department announced by the Press Association from Auckland yesterday, of n large number of officials of all branches with over thirty years service, is on the lines of th e announcement made hv the General Manager on September 14th. Mr Sterling announced that in certain cases, men would be retired under Section 14 of the Finance Act 1931.
