SEARCH FOR PHYLLIS SYMONS; POLICE DEPARTMENT ASKED TO PAY NAVVIES. WELLINGTON, September 24. ; So far the cost pf the excavations carried out by the Police Department 1 in connection with the finding of the body of the girl (Phyllis Symons), on the relief works on the Town Belt, has been borne by the Wellington Citizens’ Unemployment Committee. Today it was decided to apply for a re- • fund of the wages of the men engaged on the job. It was stated that between 80 i\ud 100 men .had been employed by the police for several days,; and the Police Department should‘be made to pay for f the woirk.' > V- :
