INDIAN PARLIAMENT

BRITISH WISHES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 23. Lord Sankey announced at to-day’s meeting of the Federal Structure Committee of the India Conference, that there would be a meeting of the Minority Committee next week. It is anticipated that the Committee will conclude the consideration of four headings tabulated by Lord Sailkey, and which have been under examination during the past few days, by noon on Friday, and then the Chairman will proceed to draft a report on the discussions. He would regard as one of -conditions of such federation a sufficient representation of all princes and their effective participation at a reasonably early date, a.s one of the absolute conditions of the constitution ; but, as to the per centages, the number of -seats, and other matters, he would rather hear the views of the others round the table. ■ For himself, he however, is nervous of making the Chambers too big to b£- of manageable size. Their views were subsequently expressed by Sir -S'. Sastu, Sir Mitter, Zafrullah Khan, Ujjal Singh (Chief of Sangli), Mr Gavin Jones and Dr Ambedkai. To-morrow the Committee will start on the discussion of the difficult subject of federal finance as between the Native States and Provinces and the Central Government.
