Beer, J. ; Martin and'J. Pratt,. Of Riverton, who returned /, a few daiys ago, after spending a 1 week on the West Coast-between Cllaiky Inlet and Dusky Sound. On a former trip the three men sighted a whale' washed up at Cipe Prbvidfehec, and anticipating a find of ambergris inside th© whale, they resolved to return. On opening the \vhale, it is statetl a quarter of . a ton of ambergris was foqnd inside, but it was a difficult task to carry this for. three miles over rough country to where the boat was moored. l
The whale was fully. 70 r it in length, and 14ft tlirqugh, and it measured 20ft across the tail.
