Court resumed this morning at 10.15 a.m., when the. accused, Frederick James Tibbies, was called to giveevidence on his own behalf. ? ; His evidence,, which. was on the ~ same, lines as .that given in the foimer trial, lasted, for 55 minutes. A.;- " Accused ( was then, subjected to. crossexamination by, Mr Ritchingham. Mr Brositan addressed the jury for. 35. minutes. : - a-..- . • . Mr F. A. Kitchingham addressed, the,-, jury for, 22 minutes, and His Honor, summed un. „ , ,- Y ,A' The jury retired at 12.30 P'.m. VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. . • At 1 p.m. exactly,, the jury, re-, turned the' foreman announcing the' verdict’-as “not guilty.” The prisoner was then discharged; The jury was discharged from further attendanc , ard the Court was adjourned until 10.30 a.m. on Monday morning.
