The essential mechanism of the clock consists of a pendulum which is virtually a coil of insulated wire; through the coil an electric -current is estab-r lished and interrupted at regular intervals by an ingenious contact device. Another feature is the propelling electrical force generated by the vibrating, coil and magnet, tending also to reduce the amount of current''drawn from the battery. In fact, by adopting this novel form of propulsion, 'the * inven- . tors claim that it is an easy matter for one battery to operate the clock for ten years. - The absence of complicated mechanism and the highly efficient electromagnetic principle cn which the clock functions will make this the most popular clock of the future.
