THEFT CHARGES
CLERK CHARGED (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) ROTORUA, September, 16. Colin Spadling Walker, employed by L. Ewert, and formerly assistant Town, Clerk of Rotorua, * was charged before Justices ~this afternoon with theft from hi s , employer. Although the amount mentioned in the charge was only £l, the police indi-i cated that further charges of a similar nature were pending, involving approximately £2OO.
The police applied for a. remand for eight days. This was not opposed. ■ Mr Davys, for the accused, asked for bail, which, was granted in self £IOO and two securities of £IOO.
Marie Ida Blakeley and her . Husband, Thomas, Guthrie Blakeley, who offered bail, were examined a s to their means, at the. request of the police, and they succeeded in satisfying the bench; ' . \v: A . •
