THEFT CHARGES

CLERK CHARGED (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) ROTORUA, September, 16. Colin Spadling Walker, employed by L. Ewert, and formerly assistant Town, Clerk of Rotorua, * was charged before Justices ~this afternoon with theft from hi s , employer. Although the amount mentioned in the charge was only £l, the police indi-i cated that further charges of a similar nature were pending, involving approximately £2OO.

The police applied for a. remand for eight days. This was not opposed. ■ Mr Davys, for the accused, asked for bail, which, was granted in self £IOO and two securities of £IOO.
