M.cDavitt was recently stranded in London, and thanks to the help of the New Zealand Government, was found a position on the steamer Argus, hound for New Zealand. McDavftt was assisting to load the vessel at Cardiff, when his arm became entangled in a winch rope, and wsjs torn off. McDavitt was in agony, but calmly lit a cigarette and smoked, until an ambulance arrived.
