In response to a telephone message from an unknown woman at 10 o’clock this morning, the police forced their way into an empty house in St. Paul Street in the city, and! discovered the dead'body of Daniel Keane, aged 51. with a black eye and bruise on one ear. It is believed that Keane had been living alone in the house, and had used a room upstairs to sleep in.
A puzzling feature is that there is apparently blood on the floor close to the body, which had been wiped up. The doors of the house had been locked from the inside.
Keane was a well-known vagrant who has frequently been charged with being unlawully on premises.
