WRESTLING.

WALKER- BEATS PASHA

(By Telegraph —Per Press A ssodation)

AUCKLAND, September 14

At the Auckland Town Hall last night, George Walker, “The Canadian 'Caveman 1 ' defeated Kara x'asha “The Terrible Turk,” by two falls to one, in a professional heavyweight wrestling contest, before a crowded house.. The first round was sensational, Pasha gaining a fall by means of the deadly ' Boston Crab amidst wild excitement. In the second round a penalty fall was awarded to Walker for Pasha’s repeatedly holding on to the ropes, and paying no Heed to the r.feree’s warnings. In the fourth round Walker hurled his man round j and round the ring with a series of fierce head-locks, and then forced his shoulders to the mat with a body press and arm bar, to win the match. Mi" L. Wilson was referee. There has been much controversy as to which of the two, Walker and Pasha, .is the better man. Owing to the Association war last year in Auckland, the two did not meet last season, but this season they have met on two occasions. Tn Wellington a few weeks ago Pasha was leading by one fall to nil, when Walker kicked him right out of the ring, just as he had the deadly, Boston Crab almost completed. The Turk struck his head on the floor and was incapacitated. Last night’s match was a much-awaited one and proved as sensational as was expected.
