HIKURANGI MINERS

Pairy and Rushworth M’s.P., a most satis- . factory settlement has been reached in the mining disputes at Hikurangi. After lengthy deliberations the miners decided to accept the terms which provided lor. a responsible body of workers operating; Wilson’s colliery at Hikurangi on a .'co-operative basis. Wilson’s to receive eight hundred tons of coal weekly at 20s a . ton on trucks at Wavo, adjacent .to the mine, ;paymerit to -bo made weekly. The miners have. : |he right- to sell the . output, in excess ;of \800: tons in." any market, they ghopse.'\.The miners, are given 11-;l 1 -; full ..use of-ythe colliery as at present erected,, freg^ito any payment of interest Or debt charges. The workers of. interest, to appoint their own manager and other , officials, but the mechanical plant is .to ,be worked by engineers approved of by. the company.
