THE LATE MR PARK

Before the business was commenced this morning at the Supreme Court, Mr C. J. P. Sellers on behalf of the local Bar said he wished to refer to the recent death of Mr James Park, Crown Prosecutor, who had been practicing here for the past 40 years, a large portion of which he had filled the post of Crown Prosecutor, during which period his whole conduct had been worthy of the highest traditions of the Bar. Mr Park had been a great help to witness, and he deeply regretted his death.

His Honor Mr Justice Adams said lie joined in the expression of sorrow at the loss of Mr Park and wished to be associated with the sentiments expressed by Mr Sellers, and to say that personally, he had first met M,r Park in 1878 at the end of which year they were articled in the same office. They had been more or less in personal touch and he had learned to honor and respect him for his integrity and goodness of heart. Referring to his services as Crown Prosecutor he said lie had endeavoured to the best of his ability and with a jusrt regard for the Grown and accused, and , could never be reproached of having endeavoured to obtain an unfair decision. He regretted his death and would remember his strict- adherence to the path of rectitude.
