The hoarding of gold by certain countries is one of the chief causes of the 'German financially crisis, said the German Foreign Minister, Dr Curtius. when addressing the League of Nations’ Assembly. Long term loans were indispensable to Germany’s recovery, and a failure -oi the coming Disarmament Conference would ruin the League, Disarmament must be real attH effective, Germany would support signor Grandi's proposal ioV the suspension i n the of armament construction, I)r Curtius .dealt in a gloomy manner with Germany’s financial crisis. Hie declared that the Hoover Plan, was only a respite, and that it must be followed by international action ,if tbe German situation were not to become hopeless. The unemployment was creating an army of desperate men, who were easily open to revolutionary propaganda. The French delegates are displeased with Dr .Curtius’s outspokenness, especially in reference to unconditional armaments and his endorsement of Signor Grandi’s arms truce proposal.
