A NEW RECORD. WELLINGTON, September 4. A.The Minister for Agriculture (tho Hon. A. J. Murdoch) visited a meeting of the Fruit Control Board yesterday'. / Mi* /.Murdoch said it Was a matter for gratification that new records for marketing had been made during the 1930 season. A total of 380,000 cwt. of apples was exported from the Dominion last season. Not only had new records been made in apple export, hut also in the pear, cheese, butter, and lamb trades. The Minister read a cablegram from the High Commissioner in London urging a continuance of the present distributing system, especially in early seasons, even if the quantity per ship is less next season, the maintenance of the present standard of packs and the retention in London of the present representation for a fixed period. With regard to the question of the Government guarantee, the Minister said that the aim was to dispose of that guarantee ultimately.
