LAWLESSNESS
THREE MONTHS GAOL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association, AUCKLAND, September 7. Edward Frederick Thompson, 52, described by Magistrate Hunt as a foreigner with a British name, was sentenced to three months gaol on a, charge of distributing pamphlets entitled “Revolt.” ( Counsel argued that the pamphlet did not actively incite. All it did was to advise men to go to unemployment camps. The Magistrate held that the document could have no other effect than to encourage lawlessness. Government was doing its best to put the country right and “these people” were doing their best to oppose it. There was trouble enough without having foreigners distributing such litcrattffW
