This evenjng, IYA will relay the concert to be given in the Town Hall by the Auckland Municipal Band under the baton of Mr 'George Buckley. As usual. .Vlr Buckley lias arranged a very fin* programme, on which will appear Miss Merle Miller, the Christchurch singer. Mr Roger Errington, the popular, Auckland tenor, is also performing at this concert. 2YA will relay from the Wellington Town Hall, the final demonstration concert of the Wellington Competitions Society’s 1931 Festival. The programme to be produced in 3YA Studio (and broadcast by 4YA) will be of the week-end type. Mr Claude Burrows, the possessor of a line baritone voice, will be singing some popular ballads. Mr 'Jock Lockhart will be heard in humorous songs and stories. A new party of vaudeville entertainers, “'The Two Rascals -nd their Rascalettes” will be making their radio debuts, providing two twenty-minute entertainments. The personnel of this party is : Miiss Melva Cater, Miss Alice Greenlees, Mr Bert Goodland and Mr Eddie Hegan, all we]] known entertainers. Mr Francis Bate’s Salon Orchestra will also contribute to the programme, playing .popular selections. MOa DAY, SEPTEMBER 7th. This evening, IYA will be broadcasting the Walker v.- Buresch wrestling match. The weekly “Musical Portrait” series will be continued at 2YA this evening by Mr Bernard Page, who, with Mr l.eon de Manny, will present Lekeu’s “Sonata in G Major” (for piano and violin) a work of singular beauty. 'Lekeu was born in 1870 and died at the early age of twenty-four. Listeners are assured of a musical treat in the performance of this work. Miss Merle Miller from Christchurch, will give a recital. Mrs M. J. Goodson will sing Schubert’s ' v.rt King” and liomer’s rather gruesome song “The Pauper’s Drive.” The Jrchestnna will play “L’Agitana,” a Spanish Gypsy Solig, ’■Polonaise” (from -Christmas Eve” by Rimsky-Korsakov) and other items.

oj.as programme is entitled "Port Lyttelton Night.” The entertainment will be entirely of a nautical nature. iJur.ng the evening, 3YA will switch over' to the Lyttelton Borough Council table where the Mayor, Mr F. E. Sutton, will be presiding at a meeting, which will be interrupted while Mr Sutton addresses radio listeners .on “Port Lyt-telton—-Past and Present.” One of the contributors to the musical programme will be -Miss Myra Sutton, daughter of the Mayor. ‘ Also on the programme will be Mr W. J. Richards (bass), Mr Geo. Titchentr (humorist), the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio and Derry’s (Military Band. Bandsman C. Barsby will contribute a trombone solo. ,

The* speaker for the (International Programme at 4YA will be the Rev. H. Davies, M.A., speaking on “China and her International Relations.” Mr Davi>s is a missionary who has spent many* years in China and is at present on furlough.
