VIOLENT STORM
IN NEW SOUTH WALES. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, September 4. A violent storm, with a southerly gale, swept Sydney early this morning and. it continued all day. Considerable damage was done in the suburbs, and to small harbour craft. The large liners . are straining at their anchors. The smaller coastal vessels have been driven to shelter. The Manly ferryboats were tossed violently in the harbour, and when crossing near the Heads their passengers were thrown off the seats. Wild weather is reported along the South Coast, where a woman was drowned in a swollen creek. The telegraph services are disorganised. Heavy snow has fallen in parts of Southern New South Wale’s, impending railway traffic.
