WELLINGTON, September 1

A formal verdict was returned by Air I. Salek, J.P., at an inquest on Airs Jennie Hamilton Glover, aged 59, who was injured while riding in a motor-car driven by her son on July 20. Mrs Glover was being driven to Shannon by. her son, when about a mile from Levin the car struck a bump

and went into a skid. Mrs Glover got up off the seat preparatory to getting out and bumped her bead several times on the hood. Eleven days later she died, a post-mortem examination showing that she had dislocated the fifth and sixth cervical vertebrae, and there was a displacement of the fifth cervical vertebrae.

It is authoritatively stated that the Feild'ing, Farmers’ Freezing Company is selling out to Bortliwicks at a price which will give shareholders 40 per cent, of the invested capital. Negotiations have been completed so

far as the directors of the company and Bortliwicks can complete them, and it is understood* that the Meat Board

lias agreed to a transfer of the license. It now remains for tlieJshareholders to approve. It is not, Anticipated, that there will be any objection raised.

It is;possible Bortliwicks will expand the operation of the works.
