Mr G’rawslmw tfie Chairman of tlie Accrington Cricket Chib ’Committee, says that Don Bradman intimated during the overtures in connection with Ins engagement that it would lie limited to twenty weeks. BRADMAN ANSWERS HIS CRITICS SYDNEY, September 3. Don Bradman announces definitely that be has not yet signed a contract with the Accrington Club in Lancashire. He resents the criticism offered from overseas, saying that it would be quite time to comment when he had accepted the contract. In the meantime, lie has not accepted any offer from anybody, Arthur Mailey, writing in the “Sun” describes Bradman as “a great draw card.” Mailey is quite sure he will not leave Australia without the leave of the Bottl'd of Control. At the- same time, he Hays, cricketers of Bradman’s type must he given sufficient encouragement to remain hero. A London cable stated that the secretary of the Accrington Cricket Club, in the Lancashire League declares that Don Bradman replied that lie was willing to sign a contract for two years, to which Accrington has agreed. The club is awaiting Bradman’s confirmation. Bradman is to receive £25 a week. He is expected to arrive in mid-April.
