An extraordinary story was 1 -to cl - Magistrate Mosley to-day, when a youth was charged with theft of monies belonging to nh insurance, firm by whom he was employed and sports C cf which he is. secretary The police said the youth had come ito the. station and made a voluntary statement confession thefts but the other parties had denied that any money was missing, and no conilaints, had been 'received. A total of six months’ imprisonment, was j.mposed on William Herbert Webster, 22, labourer, by Mr Page, S. M., for the conversion of a molin’ car to his own use at Hamilton, and the theft of £4. It was stated that he had thwe previous convictions for theft and another for, obtaining credit by fraud. Harold Leonard Dick and Kr'c George Pocock, 20 and 24 respectively, convicted yesterday with Webster -on the charge of conversion, were further remanded to enable the Probation Officer to get reports from Auckland.
