A man named Stanley Williams, residing at Waiuta, had the misfortune to break his leg on Monday -evening, lie had just left his residence when he tripped and fell, breaking a Eg just above the ankle. He was brought to Reefton Hospital next morning for treatment. The death occurred -at the Grey River Hospital yesterday morning of Mrs W. Wild, of Roa. She had been ailing for some time, and had been in the hospital for four weeks. She is survived by a husband and truce children. Her* mother and brother reside in England. On Tuesday evening about 6.30 o’clock a big slip occurred at Stitt’s Bluff, on the Westport side of Berlins, in the Buller Gorge, blocking traffic. The slip was estimated to be a chain in widtii and 10 to 12 feet in height and to contain -some heavy boulders. Part of the road is also believed -o be came* away. The death took place at Sydney oil Saturday of Mr Edward 'McE'lwee, aged ,53 years. A native of Westport, deceased left for Sydney when about 17 years of age, joining up with Bedgood ( and Sons, Boot Manufacturers of Sydney and Melbourne. Owing to id health, he retired some time ago. A brother, Tom, also joined the same firm. Deceased was a single man and leaves four brothers anl three sisters. The former are Jack of Reefton, Tom of Sydney, and George and Dave of Westport. - The three sisters are Mrs 11. N-ahr, Westport; Mrs Hurley, Wellington; Mrs Asmuss, Auckland.
