OKARITO GOLD DREDGING COMPANY. Returns from this dredging company continue .to be satisfactory as ’• r the week eliding Saturday; August 29th was 80oz ; fdr 125 hofirs diridging; During the week the dredge worked ahead a distance of 84 feet and a width of out, 00 yards, at an average depth of 21 feet. The dredge worked an average rat© of 56 yards per hour. Work is being carried out under very careful management occupying twelve men. The average return for week of gold obtained is about 87oz since starting work about 10 weeks ago. The working cost for- the week covering repairs, renewals, and general overhaul, also wages and management runs in the vicinity of 2ooz. This is considered a very satisfactory working. Prospecting is still going on further south and reports coming to hand indicate towards .some good payable country being opened up.
