(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, September 1. The second round of match play in the amateur and professional golf championships wag played to-day in showery weather. Features were a great round of 69 by the professional W. Bolger and the defeat of Sloan Morpeth, ten and eight by the youthful amateur, Ferrier, whose steadiness was superb. Sloan Morpeth had good chances, but his putter was networking smoothly. Ferrier went to lunch four up, and during the afternoon round he was deadly accurate, and overwhelmed the ex-New Zealander. Results in the amateur championship were: Thompson beat Russell one up; Keane Jbeat Nigel Smith three, and one; Williams (the Victorian youth) beat McKay four and three; Ferrier beat Morpeth ten and eight. In the professional championship, Spence beat Eyre at the 37th Howard beat Souter 2 and 1; Bolger beat Campbell 6 and 5; Copen beat East 4 and 8.
