Tlie “Daily Telegraph's” financial editor describes it / ns “a desperate remedy for a desperate situation.” He adds: —“ft certain, ly now seems that Australia is likely to be one of the first nations to get its financial house in order.V The “Daily Express” says:—“No, other country has made such demands on the stoic qualities of its people.” UNdER 15 MILLIONS UNCONVERTED. SYDNEY, September 1. After checking to-day’s figures, it is estimated that 541 millions will be. converted out of the requisite 556 millions of Australian internal debt, and that the dissentients of holdings will be under fifteen millions sterling. „
