Ladies’ Hockey Club’s team who are on tour in South Canterbury, left Timaru on Monday for Ashburton arriving there in the afternoon. The weather was not too good, but all the members of the team were well and happy. The team met an Ashburton team this afternoon. The ground was very heavy as the result of rain, and the home team proved the winners by 6 \ goals to two goals, the scorers for Hokitika being Misses Sumner and Hall. X ,The team were entertained on Monday night at the pictures and a skat- J ing party in the evening. All through the tour the party , have been treated splendidly. They leave Ashburton for Christchurch to-morrow (Wednesday), some returning home the next day and the others on Tuesday? » ‘
