A YOUTHFUL SAILOR

READY FOR ESCAPADE. rtßy Telegraph.—Special to Guardian) AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. Evidently tired of the humdrum or city life a youth of sixteen, last week commandeered an auxiliary yacht and took two companions aboard, telling them he was going for a cruise round the harbour. When the engine started the leader announced their destination was Ivermedic Island or Tonga. One of the lad s immediately protested so strenuously that he was put ashore. Later, the voyage was continued as far as Waiheke Island in the harbour. There the leader confided to the remaining companion that the yacht was not his. Thereupon another mutiny broke out, the second youth demanding to be taken back. The skipper then returned the.yacht to tbe wliarf where it had been lying and made a clean beast of it to the police. A prosecution may, or may not follow.
