NEW APPOINTMENT. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 8 a.in.) SYDNEY, September 1. The State Cabinet after a protracted sitting appointed C. J. Goode as Chief Commissioner of Transport, Janies Fraser and Charles Hodson and F. Miller as Assistant Commissioners under the new Transport Act, which places the whole railway, tramway and omnibus under the Ministry of Transport, subject to political control. Miller is the rail, tramway employees representative. Goode was formerly Area Commissioner under the old regime but was dismissed by the present Chief Commissioner, Cleary for maladministration, A lively controversy followed wherein Lang figures prominently.
