PROFESSIONAL TENNIS. PLAN FOR LONDON MATCHES. . COC-HKT REFUSES AN OFFER. PARIS, August 11. A series of tournaments •in London and on the Continent, in which ,W. T. Til den, Karel Kazeluh, and other noted professionals will play, is planned by the American, Air Jack Curley, in cooperation with the well-known sports promoter, Mr Jeff Dickson. The promoters were reported to have offered Cochet a three years’ contract at £4,000 a year to turn professional and play 'in ijhe tournaments, hut Cochet denies knowledge of Mr Curley's offer. He says he never will he induced to play professionally.
