THIEVES RANSACK STORE

GISBORNE, August 29

H. P: Demontalk’s store at Tolaga Bay was entered last night and goods estimated to value some hundreds of pounds were removed presumably with the assistance of a motor lorry. The thieves broke in by a front window, without alarming nearby residents, and ransacked the store "taking a selection of clothes, boots, watches and other items, and trampling over the discarded stock pulled down in the course of the raid. Developments are expected early.
