A full meeting of Conservatives unanimously agreed with Mi' Baldwin joining the National Government, Liberals at a full meeting also passed a resolution unanimously agreeing to the Partes, participation in the Nat ional Government. Sir W. Jowitt is remaining as Attor-ney-General," : * , Mr Snowden confirming his retirement, in a short statement said: —“J intimated to Mr MacDonald in April my intention to retire after the Budget, and large conversion was
carried % out. However; when the inter national crisis' arose I'felt it my dutj 7 to remain in pffice until the difficulties* were through. My decision therefore is not connected with the recent events.’' Mr MacDonald stated :—The report that 1 am not standing for re-election is unreliable. 1 I have come to no such decision yet. The Parliamentary Labour Party sympathetically received Lord Sanlcev, when explaining his position in connection with the Government. <
