HOKITIKA LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB. VISIT TO EAST COAST t'By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian) GERALDINE, August 28. The Hokitika Ladies’ Hockey Club team which left By train on Tuesday for a tour in South Canterbury, had a good trip over. They are receiving great hospitality and having glorious weather. In the matches yesterday the senior team struck the hardest team, and being level when time was called, played extra time, but lost by 2 goals to 1, after an exciting game. All the girls played splendidly. The junior team played three games and lost in the semi-finals by 1 to 0. The Hokitika teams were very popular, nothing but ‘‘Hokitika’’ being heard from the side lines. There were 47 teams in the competition, including men. The visiting teams were entertained at night at the annual hockey ball and all had a wonderful time. The Hokitika ladies’ team are leaving to-dav for Timaru, where they play tomorrow afternoon.
