AIRMAN BROADBENT, A ROUGH EXPERIENCE, United Press Association.—ByElectri Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) BRISBANE, August 27. The airman, Broadbent, when found had been without food and water for thirty hours and had not slept since Saturday .night. With 'the 'help of the land party he* dragged the ’plane from the mud, cleared a runaway and later reached Rockhampton. He was forced down on Monday morning and worked without success oar the ’plane. He then walked along the river bank seeking assistance, thus accounting fcr the pilot seeing the ’plane but not Broadbent. The flier walked for nearly thirty hours and suffered badly with his feet, eventually throwing his boots away. An added horror was the dingoes which dogged him. Undaunted, he will return to Sydney and set out again probably on Sunday.
