EMPRESS OF BRITAIN’S RECORD A decided challenge for the supremacy of the Atlantic is, her owners point out, offered hy the new Canadian Pacific liner, Empress of Britain, which passed Father point, Quebec, at 3 a.m.' on June 22. Having left Cherbourg at 8 p.m. on June 18, this makes a total steaming time, allowing for five, hours difference in time, of 4 days 12 hours. Not only does she break the existing Canadian record, but her time is shorter than the record-breaking trip of the German liner Europa, which in March, 1930, made the trip from Cherbourg to Ambrose Light, outside New York, in 4 days 17 hours 26 minutes. Father Point, about seven hours from Quebec C tv, is where Canadian pilot and Customs Officers, , etc., are taken aboard, and ,is the official terminal for calculating the speed of ships on the Canadian route corresponding to Ambrose .’Light on the New York route.
