SCHOOLS CHURCH PARADE

On Sunday night the West Christchurch and the District High School Football teams attended a Church Parade at All Saints’ Church, occupying the centre seats of the Church, in spite of the heavy rain there was a full attendance. Mr J. L. Mackie of the Christchurch School read the first lesson, Proverbs, , chapter 2,' verses I—9; and the Rector of the High School read as second lesson, St. Luke, chapter 2, verses 39—ends The hymns were “The Church’s one foundation,” “King of Saints,’ “The King of Love,” and “Onward, Christian Soldiers.” Preaching from the text, “And tne child grew,” the Vicar referred to growth as the sign of life, and to the three-fold human nature, physical, intellectual and spiritual, each requiring its due development to make the perfect humanity.
