''The Duke of Gloucester suddenly became ill on Thursday afternoon, and was rushed to the Countess of Carnarvon’s nursing home in the West End. Doctors diagnosed the trouble as appendicitis. OPERATION FOR APPENDICITIS LONDON, August 22. The Duke of Gloucester, who on Thursday become ill suddenly, under went an operation at the Countess of Carnarvon’s Nursing Home in t’ West End for appendicitis. The operation was successful, and his condition is satisfactory. The bulletin was signed by Dr Ernest Charles Lindsay, the well-known surgeon. LONDON, August 22. The.
