BOXING CLUB

A meeting of tile Club was held in Keller’s Rooms last evening. Present Messrs D. Dowell, M. McGavin, F. Ballinger, 0. Hahn, J. Atkinson, J. -Stafford, R. Bell, D. Breeze. A apology from the President, Mr McGregor, for absence through illness, was rece.ved, and Mr Dowell elected to the chair. The minutes were read and confirmed. Mr Dowell moved, seconded by Mr iR. Bell, that the Secretary forward a letter of sympathy to the fam ly of the late Mrs IXvarey. Carried, members standing in silence. The following members were elected as a committee to assist in the drawing of the Art Union:—Messrs J. Stafford, M. McGavin, F. McGregor and Secretary. Arrangements were made to procure the use lof marbles, to enable the Tatts method to '.be used. The following were elected officials at the dance. ; Doorkeepers.—-R. Bell and F. Ballinger. ,M.C.: D. Breeze. Asst. M.C. R. 'Furness. It was decided to include Old Time Dances with modern jazz in the programme also a lucky spot. The Secretary reported the Ernie Cook’s “Bachelor Band” would supply a few extras. Accepted with thanks. The offer from the -Red’Lion per Mrs Tomlinson of any assistance was also accepted. \ Mr McGavin moved, and Mr Stafford seconded that the Club forward con. gratulatlons to Mr T. Croft on his winning the N.Z. Middleweight C&am« pionship, Carried.
