WEDDING BELLS

CAINES—MURTHA. Tlic wedding took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Kumara, on Wednesday morning last, of Eileen, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Murtha, Main Street, Ivuniara, to George, son of Mr

|and Mrs Caines, Christchurch. -Rev. ! Father Lordan officiated, and was also the celebrant at the Nuptial ■ Mass. The br.ide, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away, wore an ankle-length frock of white satin with an overdress of silk net. She also wore a long embroidered veil wreathed with orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and maiden hair fern. She was attended by her two sisters as bridesmaids. Miss Clare Murtha, the chief bridesmaid, was attired in an ankle-length frock of pink georgette, with silk not and felt hat and shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. Miss I\. Murtha, the other bridesmaid, wore a blue celanese frock of ankle length with blue felt hat and shoes to match, and also carried a bouquet of blue and white flowers. The flower girls were Florence Gray (niece of the bride) ,and Irene Finlay. The former wore an ankle-length dress of white satin with tulle frills and Dutch cap. The latter wore an ankle-length dress of blue satin, with tulle frills and Dutch cap. Both carried bouquets. Malcolm Gray, nephew of the bride, acted as page boy, and was dressed in a cream serge suit, trimmed with gold braid and buttons and carried a crook with pink flowers. Mr Garrett Murtha was best man, and Mr Gilbert Murtha acted as groomsman. The Wedding March was played by Miss Doris La lor,' the organist. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the residence of the bride’s parents, where the wedding

breakfast was partaken of by over one hundred guests. The.-usual toasts were duly honoured.
