BURNING A TRUCK
MAN CONVICTED. (By Telegraph —Per Pres « Association) CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. Tlie accused, Arthur Lancelot Cyril Watkins, gave evidence. He stated that Percival Dennis Mahoney, who had been one of the party in the truck, and who was the principal witness for the prosecution, had set fire to the truck. He said Mahoney had first made the suggestion that he (Walker) fired the truck, and had carried out his intention against' bis (Watkins) wish. The jury returned a verdict of guilty. The prisoner was remanded till Friday for sentence. ’
