The latest Government decree ordering the seizure by the State of all properties given by aristocrats as loans to past Kings, has led to remarkable cases. - As an instance, the ancestors of MarA;£quie Erechrilla, five centuries ago, the King 84 ducats or £4O sterling receiving in exchange several thou* sand acres of land, which the descendants occupied and cultivated. The decree permits the State to claim all the earnings from the land for the past five hundred years, about 40 (?) pounds.
