WEDDING BELLS

CROUCH—MATHEWS. The wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth yesterday of Katherine Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Mathews, of Alexander Street, Greymouth, and Percival Henry, only son of Mr and Mrs T. Crough, Lower Kokatahi. Her sister, Miss G, Mathews who acted as bridesmaid, wore a frock of flame shantung embroidered in jade and silver and a large felt hat to match. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr George Cullen, Runanga. Nuptial Mass was celebrated hy Rev. Father Holohan, who- also performed the marriage ceremony. About fifty guests were afterwards entertained at the wedding breakfast at Columha Hall, v\

the usual toasts were honoured. Mrs W. Mathews, mother of the bride, wore a brown figured velvet frock and smart toque in the same shades. The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs T. Crough, was attired in a navy costume, and hat and fawn fox fur. A pleasing function at the breakfast was the presentation by Mr J. A. McCallum, on behalf of the directors of the Kokatahi Dairy Coy., of a handsome canteen of cutlery to the newlywedded pair, Mr Crough being an employee of the Company. Later in the day Mr and Mrs Crough left for Christchurch on their wedding tour, the latter wearing a fawn cloth frock, and velour coat of brown with fur collar and cuffs. A smart beret in fawn and brown completed a charming ensemble.
