FINANCIAL GRANTS. ( By Telegraph—Per Press Association) NAPIER, August 17. Decisions reached re applications for financial assistance in the earthquake area were communicated to over twenty claimants. It appeared that no grants of free money are to he paid. Applicants have been granted loans carrying interest at 4.j per cent., repayment to be spread over periods ranging between twenty and thirty years, according to the state of the applicants affairs, In every case there is a period of from three to five years immediately after the granting of assistance, during which no interest will be charged. > The offers have created a most favourable impression in Napier.
