NEWSPAPER STRIKE
FOLLOWS CUTS IN PAY,
(Australian Press Association.)
PERTH, August 13
There was a strike of newspaper employees here to-day. It prevented the production of the city's afternoo’n newspaper, the Perth Daily News. The morning newspaper, the Western Australian, is unlikely to appear to-morrow.
The dispute involves the proprietors of both journals, and their mechanical staffs. It arises out of reductions made in the men’s pay, following on a heavy' drop in advertising, and the high cost of newsprint, due to the adverse exchange.
