In the Magistrate’ B Court to-day, Arthur Francis Bailey, aged IS, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence 1 when called on, on a charge of unlawfully asaulting his mother, who was the informant. He was ordered not to enter his mother’s house, and to pay costs. The informant told an extraordinary story, alleging that her son had thrown knives ,at her, wounding her once in the leg, and he had thumped her. on the floor; All this was because he had been called on to contribute to her maintenance.
